Ongoing Tribute
Program
The Dr. Frank and Sara Cohen Youth Fund was established
in 1995 by the Dr. Frank's Kids Committee to honor Dr.
Frank and Sara Cohen for the dedication, devotion and
hard work to provide quality programs to the Jewish youth
of Tarrant County.
The Lil Goldman Early Childhood Program Fund was
established in 1994 from the estate of Gertrude Bennett
to provide support for the Lil Goldman Early Childhood
Center. The program provides preschool education in a
Jewish environment. The program serves children from 2-5
years of age.
The Send Kids to Israel Program Fund was established
in 1994 by a gift from the Barnett family in honor of
Lou Barnett's 75th birthday. The five-year family commitment
will help provide funds to match parent contributions
to send teenagers to Israel. In addition to the Barnett
gift, the SKIP fund received several contributions in
memory of Helen Gernsbacher. This fund is a part of the
current efforts in the community to provide programs,
which promote Jewish continuity.
The Wally Nass Memorial Scholarship Fund and the Morris
Singer Memorial Scholarship Fund provide scholarship
funds to attend the Fort Worth Hebrew Day School. They
were created to honor the memory of these two individuals.
The Kornbleet Scholar-In-Residence Fund was created
in 1989 by a bequest from Larry Kornbleet. The Federation
Board, in consultation with the Kornbleet family, designated
the fund for the annual Scholar-In-Residence Program.
The Rosenthal Endowment for Federation Operations
was established in 1984 by Manny Rosenthal to help offset
the operating expenses of the Federation.
The Ben and Esther Rauch Jewish Camp Scholarship Fund
was established to provide confidential financial assistance
to attend Jewish Camp. Administered by the JFS Director.
Marcia P. and Dr. Stanley M. Kurtz Fund for Holocaust
Education was established to provide a scholarship
for a secondary school teacher to participate in a Holocaust
studies teacher training program.
Cipa Rosenberg Taylor Fund for UJA was established
from the estate of Cipa Rosenberg Taylor. The interest
earned from the fund is sent annually to the United Jewish
Communities in addition to our community's annual allocation.
Ella Brachman Leadership Development Fund was established
to honor the memory of Ella Brachman. These funds are
used for expenses related to the Leadership Development
Program.
The Molly Roth Program Fund was established in
memory of Molly Roth and designated to fund local programs.
The Jerry and Sylvia Wolens Fund was established
by Jerry and Sylvia to help send a newly involved leader
to the UJC General Assembly.
The Lou and Madlyn Barnett and Leon and Fay Brachman
Young Leadership Award Endowment was established in
1997 to annually subsidize an outstanding woman and an
outstanding man to attend the UJC General Assembly.
The Hortense Deifik Community Relations Activities
Fund was established in 1998 to help fund activities
such as the Speakers Bureau Brochure, Jewish Calendar
for School and Civic Groups, Expert Speakers on Issues,
Legislative Day in Austin, Israeli Teen Delegation, Public
Policy Advocacy, Interfaith Dialogues, Candidate Forums,
and Action Alerts.
The Jewish Family Services Fund is a designated
endowment fund formed to support Jewish Family Services.
This fund is administered by the Jewish Family Services
Committee.
The Jewish Family Services Heart Fund is a designated
endowment fund formed to pay for indigent Jewish burial
expenses. Administered by the JFS Director.
The NCJW Fund for Rosh Hashanah Baskets is a designated
endowment fund established in 2002 to pay for Rosh Hashanah
Baskets for the needy. Formed by a donation from the National
Council of Jewish Women. Administered by the JFS Director.
Tandy/Posy McMillen Endowment for Holocaust Education
is a designated endowment fund established to promote
holocaust awareness, in Tarrant County, through education
and community programming. |
