Community Event--generally
takes place in the Fall and features a performance or
speaker and a reception. This Event is open to the entire
Jewish community.
Community Chanukah Program--hosted by each synagogue
on a three year cycle, provides latkes and donuts and
a program geared toward children, minimal cost
Larry
Kornbleet Memorial Scholar-in-Residence--hosted by
each synagogue on a three year cycle, provides a scholar
for a one-time, weeknight program, the program is open
to the entire Jewish Community at no cost.
Community Purim Carnival--hosted by each synagogue
on a three year cycle, provides a program geared toward
children, minimal cost
Women's Event--takes place in March-Jewish Women's
History Month-and features a speaker or performance and
lunch. It is open to any woman who is a member of the
Federation (who gives a personal or family gift to the
Annual Campaign).
Community
Yom HaShoah Program--hosted by synagogues and TCU,
provides a memorial service and program to commemorate
Yom HaShoah
Community Yom HaZikaron Program--hosted by Congregation
Ahavath Sholom, provides a memorial service to commemorate
Yom HaZikaron, led by Israeli community
Community Yom Ha'atzmaut Program--hosted by each
synagogue on a three year cycle, provides Israeli food
and a program geared toward everyone, minimal cost.
Sylvia Wolens Jewish Daytimers--ongoing, cultural,
educational, and social events for adults who are available
during the day. Hosted by Beth-El congregation the second
or third Wednesday of the month, programming takes place
eleven months of the year.
Florence Melton Adult Mini-School--two-year adult
Jewish education program which meets 30 weeks a year.
This program has been running for over 20 years and currently
has 59 sites in the US. Classes were begun in Fort Worth
in 2004 and will continue through 2007. This program has
graduated 40 community members. Recruitment for new classes
will begin in March 2008.
